April 30, 2024, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, TX --Lancaster Independent School District proudly recognizes the Texas Instruments Foundation and Educate Texas as the recipients of the inaugural District Partner of the Year award. This accolade highlights the outstanding contributions of these two organizations in fostering STEM education within the district.
During the Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees April board meeting, the district recognized the Texas Instruments Foundation and Educate Texas for their consistent support and collaborative efforts in the district since 2012.
Lancaster ISD extended heartfelt gratitude to the Texas Instruments Foundation and Educate Texas, and shared that their partnership has played a crucial role in propelling Lancaster ISD towards becoming a model for STEM education.
“We have developed great partnerships that support our mission to ensure student success. So, when considering which partner to honor as our first District Partners of the Year, the choice was clear: the Texas Instruments Foundation and Educate Texas,” Lancaster ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Perera shared. “Since 2012, both organizations have been dedicated partners in providing STEM education and their funding and support have been major contributions to our achievements. We are honored to recognize and express our gratitude to these two outstanding organizations.”
During the meeting, a video montage showcased the start of the partnership between Lancaster ISD, the TI Foundation and Educate Texas, reflecting on the journey of collaboration and innovation. Texas Instruments Foundation Executive Director, Andy Smith, was appreciative of the acknowledgement and visibly emotional as he spoke about the working relationship that has existed for several years with Lancaster ISD.
“I honestly choked up watching the video. To be honest with you, I was struck by how much we value our relationship with Lancaster ISD, and our partnership with Educate Texas. We have been working with Lancaster ISD now for 12 years and it has been a great partnership.”
Educate Texas Director of College and Career Readiness, Kenya Wilson, shared the same sentiments.
“When student success is paralleled with national teacher recognition among STEM educators, we know the TI Foundation,LISD and Educate TX partnership is impactful,” she shared. “LISD, funded by the TI Foundation, and supported by Educate TX leads the path for PK-12 STEM education- from classroom implementation to campus culture and community engagement.”
Thanks to the Texas Instruments Foundation's grant and Educate Texas's support, the district has become a model for STEM education. The district's success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its teachers, students, and community. With the right resources and support, Lancaster ISD has inspired a new generation of scientists, engineers, artists, and innovators.
