Join us for Parent University, on Saturday, April 13! This is series three of this event, hosted by Barack and Michelle Obama 9th Grade Campus. It is an opportunity to bring Lancaster ISD parents, business owners, and community members back into the campus in a positive way. As our district’s stakeholders, you are a vital part of what we do daily: teaching, empowering, encouraging, and preparing students. Parent University is a way to assist parents and families with obstacles and provide resources to the Lancaster community.
Parent University is a free program that will take place one Saturday a month over the next four months. All Parent University sessions take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Barack and Michelle Obama 9th Grade Campus at 1109 W. Main St., Lancaster, TX 75146.
Participants will select three topics to learn about throughout the program. They will receive additional information about their chosen topics each month, building upon the previous month’s lessons.
Lancaster ISD teachers and experts will teach Parent University courses. Parents and community members can also submit suggestions for topics they are interested in so we can continue to expand and develop Parent University.
At the end of the four-month program, participants who have completed at least three sessions will participate in a graduation ceremony and have the option to attend an on-site job fair. Friends and family are welcome to attend the ceremony.
Please be advised Parent University is about parents/guardians, family, and community outreach. It will not be the appropriate moment to talk about students, attendance, discipline, or any other school-related business. Parent University is designed to be a helpful and positive exchange between campus teachers and parents to cultivate and nurture those relationships.
To register for Parent University, visit the link: https://shorturl.at/notST and select three courses. All classes have a 25-person enrollment capacity to allow teachers to administer the lessons effectively. Course offerings are listed below, and a course book will be provided to participants.
