Lancaster ISD is pleased to announce Dr. Faith-Ann Cheek will join the Finance Department as Chief Financial Officer. Dr. Cheek most recently served as the Executive Director of Budget &
Finance for a school district in Mesquite ISD.
In her previous role, Dr. Cheek facilitated the budget cycle for department and campus budgets totaling over $530 million, including local, state, federal, and invested revenues. She also
managed a $375 million district investment portfolio and supervised the accounting, accounts payable, and payroll departments.
"I am very excited to begin my journey as a Tiger in Lancaster ISD," said Cheek. "Each of us is responsible for ensuring that the students in Lancaster ISD have a safe learning environment that fosters student success. None of that can occur without adequate funding, appropriate budgeting, and fiscal integrity in the Lancaster community. I am ready to give my best to Lancaster ISD."
Cheek has served public education in several leadership roles, including Assistant Superintendent at Pecos Barstow Toyah ISD and Bonham ISD. As assistant superintendent, she successfully conducted and completed a comprehensive federal programs audit to reclassify expenditures, correct compliance findings, and plan and supervise school construction projects.

Dr. Cheek received her Bachelor of Arts in English/Education from Eastern Connecticut State University. She also holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Barry University and a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University.
Additionally, Dr. Cheek earned a Doctorate of Education in Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University. Dr. Cheek also holds a superintendent certification.
