LANCASTER, Texas -- The high school basketball season has begun, and the Lancaster High School boys varsity team is already making waves. The Tigers have been ranked as the number-one team in the district as the 2023-2024 season starts.
The team has been practicing hard all year, and their efforts have paid off. They have a strong lineup of talented players working together to improve their game and bring their skills to the court.
Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Director Ferrin Douglas is pleased with the ranking. He says the team has been working hard and is ready for the season. He also credits the team's success to their strong work ethic and dedication.
The Lady Tigers Varsity basketball team is also gearing up for another successful season. Head Coach LaQuita Walker says the team's chemistry, both on and off the court, makes them stand out from the competition.
The Tigers will compete in the DFW Tip-off on Friday, November 10, in Waxahachie, and the Lady Tigers' next home game is on Tuesday, November 14, against John Paul II High School. Both teams are eager to get on the court and show their talents. Schedules for both teams can be found at www.lancasterisd.org/athletics, and tickets can be purchased at www.lancasterisd.org/tickets.
With the season just beginning, only time will tell if the boy's varsity team can maintain its number-one ranking. But one thing is sure: both high school varsity basketball teams are the ones to watch out for this season.
