November 8, 2024, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, TX--Friday night lights took on a special glow as Lancaster ISD celebrated its exceptional Staff Members of the Year during a memorable halftime ring ceremony. Lancaster ISD recognized its Staff Members of the Year with official hardware while honoring their dedication and contributions to student success.
The honored staff members received commemorative rings recognizing their Staff of the Year status, with the crowd joining in to show their appreciation. This moment not only celebrated individual achievements but also reflected Lancaster ISD's commitment to excellence and the pride shared by students, staff, and the community.
“It is an honor to recognize our staff members of the year. In order to have and keep employees that are happy and want to stay with the district, you have to acknowledge what they are doing and acknowledge that they are truly giving their all to our kids, and to me that commitment means everything for our kids,” says Lancaster ISD Superintendent, Dr. Katrise Perera.
For many of the honorees, this moment was not only a career highlight but also a reminder of the impact they have on their students’ lives every day.
“Winning teacher of the year made me want to go harder this year,” said Elementary Teacher of the Year, Kaitlin Washington. “It let me know that I’m not just a light for my students, but also for the campus regarding pedagogy and leadership.”
This recognition was more than just a milestone; it was a testament to the educators’ commitment to Lancaster ISD’s students and families. One honoree expressed how meaningful the experience was and what it represented in their journey as an educator.
“It’s so gratifying to be recognized. I feel like I’m just doing my job every day, but to realize that other people thought I was doing it very well is very validating,” says Lancaster ISD Instructional Employee of the Year, Lynne Glynn. “This has made me very conscious of what I’m doing, how I’m doing it, and who I’m doing it for.”
This was a night of honor, where their hard work and dedication truly made these educators feel like superstars, was an unforgettable celebration.
“This is awesome. Having the opportunity to feel like a true superstar for what we have done in the classroom and to be acknowledged in front of everyone, this is just amazing. I feel like part of the winning team,” said Lancaster ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year, Brittany Johnson.
