The Lancaster ISD board of trustees approved the 2022-23 compensation plan at its June 28 board meeting.
The approved compensation plan provides all employees with a pay increase and positions Lancaster ISD as the highest paying district for new teachers among the Best Southwest school districts.
The Lancaster ISD 2022-2023 compensation plan includes the following:
- A 5% raise for all district employees (midpoint general pay increase)
- An increase to the district's new teacher salary from $55,050 to $59,050
- A new teacher incentive signing bonus totaling $500
- A secondary science stipend totaling $5,000
The district will continue to offer a $5,000 stipend for bilingual, English I and II, and Algebra I and II teaching positions, a $550 or $1,100 stipend for teachers with a master’s or doctoral degree, and a $10,000 stipend for the district’s Teachers on Special Assignment and teachers with dual credit credentials.
The board's approval of the compensation plan will allow the district to maintain competitive salaries to attract high-quality educators. It also allows the board to showcase its priority of ensuring educators are valued.
"Lancaster ISD is home to some of the most dedicated education professionals in the state of Texas, and we value each employee," School Board President Marion Hamilton expressed. "It was imperative to our board that we approve a compensation package that allows us to remain competitive as we continue to recruit and retain exceptional employees."
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. A. Katrise Perera, shared the same sentiments.
"Each member of our school district plays a vital role in the success of our students. Our employees’ efforts have not gone unnoticed, and I applaud our board's action of approving the compensation plan. During a time when educators need additional support, this is one way our district is exhibiting our commitment to education and our employees," she said.
Current Lancaster ISD employees can expect to see the impact of the approved compensation plan on their September check. Employees may also contact the Lancaster ISD Human Resources department at hr@lancasterisd.org or at 972.218.1400 for additional information.
