The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released its public school ratings on Monday, August 15, 2022. The TEA’s school ratings are determined by scores in three categories: Student Achievement, Student Progress, and Closing the Gaps.
Lancaster ISD is proud to report that despite last year's statewide trend of declining STAAR test results due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the district has received a "B" accountability rating.
The overall district performance score is 88, seven points higher than its 2019 rating. Additionally, the Lancaster ISD performance score is one of the top scores in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. When comparing 2021 vs. 2022 STAAR data, Lancaster ISD student growth was strongest in reading but also showed significant progress in math.
“Our accountability results are not by accident,” stated Superintendent Dr. Katrise Perera. “It is due to the hard work of our students and the intentionality of our educators. Our accountability rating is the direct result of our strategic and innovative academic transition that began at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year and was led by our Instructional Services Department.”
Lancaster ISD is also proud to report that one of its campuses, West Main Elementary, received an “A” rating and five campus distinctions including, Academic Achievement in English Language Arts/Reading, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Top 25%: Comparative Academic Growth, Postsecondary Readiness, and Top 25%: Comparative Closing the Gaps.
