Tiger Games

August 8, 2024, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, TX -- The 2024 Tiger Games Convocation was the perfect event to kick off an exciting school year for Lancaster ISD. The production started with greetings from Lancaster ISD Board President Ty G. Jones and City of Lancaster Mayor Clyde Hairston. Their words set a positive tone, showing the strong support from both district leadership and the city.

Lancaster Early College 9th grader, Lorielle Crymes, did an excellent job introducing Superintendent Dr. Perera and Olympic champion Jeremy Wariner. Dr. Perera delivered an inspiring speech about the theme "Dream, Believe, Roar," explaining its significance for the district. She also presented the boys basketball state championship team with their state rings, celebrating their belief in themselves and their big win. Wariner closed out the show with his perspective on "Dream, Believe, Roar" as a coach, Olympic champion, and educator.

Motivating speeches from Teachers of the Year Brittany Johnson and Kaitlin Washington encouraged everyone, highlighting the dedication and passion needed in education. The convocation also featured video messages from Olympic greats Carl Lewis and Dawn Staley, along with Lancaster ISD's own Chryste Gaines.

The event ended with the exciting Tiger Games Challenge, where staff members worked together to complete four types of challenges: mental, physical, skill, and mystery. Teams raced against the clock to earn points and climb the leaderboard and in the end, the PEagles took first place with an impressive 2090 points.

The Tiger Games Convocation was not only a day of fun and teamwork but also the perfect way to start the school year, embodying the spirit of "Dream, Believe, Roar."
