Lancaster ISD is pleased to announce new additions to the secondary principals in the district for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

I am truly privileged to work alongside these exceptional leaders as we shape the future of our district.”
Dr. Antionette Mathews has been promoted to Executive Principal and will provide support for all secondary principals and will remain the J.D. Hall Learning Center leader.
Veteran principal Gail Wright will transition to secondary campus leadership and lead the GWC 6th Grade STEM Learning Center campus as principal. Ms. Wright has been an integral part of our district for many years. Under her leadership, West Main Elementary has consistently produced impressive TEA testing results. The campus recently received an "A" rating from the Texas Education Agency.
Kirsten Jett will be transitioning to the principal of Lancaster High School (LHS). She currently serves as Lancaster Middle School's (LMS) principal and previously as the LHS associate principal. While serving as principal of LMS, Jett has been instrumental in reducing campus disciplinary infractions, increasing student academic performance, and strategically developing programs and activities that promote a positive school culture.
Addison Russ will return to Lancaster ISD as principal of Barack and Michelle Obama 9th Grade Campus. Russ currently serves as Haltom High School's assistant principal in Birdville ISD. Before that, he served as assistant principal of Lancaster High School for 11 years and developed school-wide systems to help facilitate the flow of instruction and discipline. He also exercised collaborative leadership, strategic planning, and educator empowerment. In addition, he also developed an enrichment program for students transitioning from middle to high school that produced increases in Algebra 1 and English 1 End of Course (EOC) results.
Travis Anderson will assume the role of Lancaster Middle School principal. Anderson currently serves as assistant principal of Mesquite Horn High School in Mesquite ISD. He oversees a variety of essential functions, including attendance monitoring and truancy. In addition, he provides staff coaching and instructional support for teachers and makes data-driven decisions to ensure student success. His extensive experience and dedication to student achievement make him an excellent choice to lead Lancaster Middle School.
