Lancaster ISD is pleased to announce Cartney Slaughter as the new principal of Rosa Parks/Millbrook Elementary. Slaughter has served as the assistant principal of Rosa Parks/Millbrook for five years and will lead the campus during the 2023-2024 school year.
As assistant principal, he was pivotal in creating a conducive learning environment and ensuring the students' educational success. His leadership and dedication to student achievement have driven positive outcomes and inspired students and educators.
"I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to serve this community in a new capacity," said Slaughter. "I have been at the great Rosa Parks/Millbrook Elementary for the last 16 years and was part of many accomplishments and achievements on campus. I look forward to continuing the greatness and progressing forward. I will continue building children, character, and community daily."
Slaughter joined Lancaster ISD as a fifth-grade math teacher in 2007. Throughout his tenure at Lancaster ISD, he has held various positions, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to educational excellence.
As a campus leader, Mr. Slaughter has helped develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain and track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators. Additionally, he has assisted in developing and establishing the school's goals and planning the school's instructional program.
Slaughter received his Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and earned a Master of Education degree in Education Administration from Concordia University.
