December 10, 2024 Lancaster ISD/Lancaster,TX --In celebration of 30 years of dedication and service, Lancaster ISD proudly honored the Lancaster ISD Police Department. Established in 1994, the department began its journey with Officer Dean Gilliam as its first hire. Affectionately known as "O.G." by many alumni, Officer Gilliam is not only a beloved figure in the community but also the proud father of Lancaster ISD employees Cheryle Johns and Kathleen Hoggatt.
During the celebration on Tuesday, December 10, Officer Gilliam shared heartfelt reflections about the department's early days and offered his well-wishes to the current officers. Chief Wherley also expressed his gratitude, thanking both his dedicated team and the supportive Lancaster ISD community. Dr. Perera added a message of gratitude, highlighting the department's unwavering commitment to safety and security.
