Lancaster ISD Celebrates Grandparents Day

The longstanding tradition of National Grandparents Day represents the significant role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren. Lancaster ISD recognizes the importance of that role and celebrates the holiday by welcoming grandparents to the district’s elementary campuses.

National Grandparents Day is celebrated the first Sunday in September following Labor Day. This year, the holiday falls on Sunday, September 8, 2024 and Lancaster ISD celebrates the day on Friday, September 6, with several different campus activities. Across the district’s six elementary campuses, hundreds of loving grandparents visited their grandchild’s school to participate in either a Grandparents Drive-through Parade, a Grand Continental Breakfast, Grandparents Fun Day, or Grandparents Lunch.

Each campus was filled with Grandparent love and the students took the time to relish in the moment by taking photos, smiling, laughing, and giving their grandparents big hugs. It was definitely a grand occasion for all in attendance in honor of all grandparents.
